Being Church in Strange Times - 74

Saturday 3 April 2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I look forward to celebrating the joy of Easter with many of you tomorrow morning. Both the 8:30am and the 10:30am service are now fully booked. Please do keep Delali, Joana and Edem-David in your prayers as they are baptised at the 10:30am service.

The Easter Sunday service will be online by this evening, here.

There will also be an online Family Service for Easter. Thank you to all the children and families who have taken part. A huge thank you to Tricia and the Patton family for organising and producing this special service. It will be available from this evening on Youtube.
Please share this with your family and friends. It is wonderful to watch.

There will be NO MEN'S GROUP and NO COFFEE TIME on Easter Sunday. But lectio divina will take place as usual this Thursday. Thank you to Brian for leading this.

Everyday Faith:
As part of the Everyday Faith project we are encouraging members of the congregation to make a short video about their faith, life and work. There are two videos to watch already, so you might like to have a look here.
If you would like to make a video yourself, please let me know.

David and I will be away after the Easter Sunday services for a week. Elizabeth Bussmann will be taking the service on 11 April. Please give her a very warm welcome.

The World Council of Churches Easter Initiative 2021:
You may be interested in finding out more about this initiative which seeks to connect Biblical narratives with the current realities in Palestine and Israel. Clare Amos, who many of you know, has been involved in producing this.

Finally, David and I want to thank you for the many Easter greetings, cards and gifts we have received. Thank you for your ongoing encouragement and support.

Alleluia, Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed, alleluia!

We wish you a very joyful Eastertide.

Love in Christ,
Helen
