Being Church in Strange Times – 130

Tuesday 28 June 2022

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope that I will see many of you this coming Sunday. If you are not able to come in person you can find the readings and hymns for the service here: Service Resources at St Ursula's Church, Berne.

Online Study of the Creed
We will meet online TODAY, 7-8.15pm, to reflect on the Trinity. Everyone is welcome. I have sent out the zoom link earlier this morning.

Ordinands' Retreat
Tomorrow I travel to Belgium to lead the retreat for those getting ordained in the Diocese in Europe. Please pray for me as I lead the retreat and preach at the ordination service on Saturday, and please pray for those who will be ordained. It will be difficult for me to answer emails during the retreat. I will be back in Bern late on Saturday evening.

Adorée's Memorial Service
This will be held on 11am, Saturday, 9th July. If you are intending to come to the service but haven't let us know, please email the church office as soon as possible.

Fire from Heaven
On Sunday 10th July, 7.30pm, we hope that we will be able to show a one man play (in English), called 'Fire from Heaven', written by Murray Watts. It is about the scientist Michael Faraday. In order to make this viable we need enough people to come. Tickets are 20 CHF. If you would like to come, please book a seat through the link below OR let the church office, or Sue Higson know as soon as possible.

The Spiritual Life
'The spiritual life is simply a life in which all that we do comes from the centre, where we are anchored in God; a life soaked through and through by a sense of His reality and claim, and self-given to the great movement of His will.'
(The Spiritual Life, Evelyn Underhill)

With love in Christ,
Helen
