Being Church in Strange Times – 131

Wednesday 6 July 2022

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I look forward to seeing many of you on Sunday. If you are not able to come in person you can find the readings and hymns for the service here: Service Resources at St Ursula's Church, Berne

Adorée's Memorial Service
This will be held at 11am on Saturday. Please do keep Adorée's daughter Nicole and her son Stefan and their families in your prayers.

Play 'Fire from Heaven' CANCELLED
Sadly, the performance of the one-man play 'Fire from Heaven' which was going to be performed this coming Sunday has been cancelled. This is because the actor has COVID. The play, which is about the scientist Michael Faraday and exploring the relationship between faith and science, sounds very interesting and we very much hope that we can organise another date for it to be performed at St Ursula's when the actor has recovered. We will keep you informed.

Afternoon Tea
On Wednesday 13th July, 2-4pm you are invited to an afternoon tea. We hope to hold it in the church garden if it is fine, otherwise it will be in the upper hall. This will be an opportunity to enjoy one another's company as well as delicious home made cakes. Please let Lynn Morgan or the church office know if you would like to come and also whether you would like a lift.

Rooted in Christ and Abounding in Thanksgiving
'As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.' (Colossians 2:6-7)

With love in Christ,
Helen
