Gardening Day Report: 18.10.2025

Autumn had certainly arrived in the Church garden when the team arrived to do their work. There were leaves scattered as far as the eye could see. The good news however was that the hedges had all been cut back. This was thanks to Markus and Judith at the front, and Lehmann Gardening team for the back, paid for by a generous member of the church community. This action got the hedges down to a manageable size for the future.

Leaves as far as the eye can see.

The team of Sue, Allison, Graeme, Michael, Judith, Kiki, Dimitri, and later Markus, Pablo and Sam had a lot of work raking and clearing leaves, as well as removing the rose arch that had blown down in a storm earlier. Kiki and Allison built a new hedgehog house out of a broken pot, leaves and branches. It was hard work, but great fun as ever.

After the clean up, all the furniture back on the patio.
After the clean up, an amazing transformation.

The whole team had great fun, plus we picked up extra volunteers during the action, with both Sam and Pablo joining in spontaneously, and the little boy from across the road also joining in. We know the leaves were probably back within hours of our work, but we will also be back to clear some more soon.
