The first Eco Church cooking together event took place on March 7th. There were 8 happy cooks, being Helen, Sue, Gerli, Martin, Donna, Harriet, Miriam and Susie. Helen, Sue and Gerli provided ingredients and recipes, and we split into small teams to prepare the food. This was a vegan and gluten free event, designed to show how easy it it to cook delicious and healthy dishes without any meat or dairy in them. The menu at the end was home made chai crackers accompanied by a home made hummus, along with a Sweet Potato and Chickpea curry with rice, a Buckwheat and root vegetable stew accompanied by a truly seasonal salad.
