Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Last Sunday, we had a celebration after the service as we gave thanks for all we had been able to raise through our Grace, Gratitude and Generosity Campaign.
A big thank you to Sue and her team for organising this, thanks to those who have made generous donations, and thanks to those new donors who have committed to give regularly.
If you missed the campaign or have questions about giving, you can look at our website here for a report on the campaign and here for reflections on possible stumbling blocks to giving:
If you have any questions do ask Sue, our Treasurer, for more information.
It is not too late to make a donation or a commitment to give regularly.
Your support is very much appreciated.
Musicians Evening, 6.30pm in church house, 7pm in church
Our musicians will be meeting together on Wednesday 28th October to play through hymns and songs coming up in the next season of the church year and learning a few new songs.
We would also welcome any singers who would like to join us.
We will gather in the church house from 6.30pm for a drink first and move into the church around 7pm.
Nacht der Religionen Choir
The Nacht der Religionen is on Saturday 14th November. The theme this year is Music. We will be joining with the Christkatholische Abendgebet at 21:00. It is hoped that some singers from St Ursula’s will join in with the choir from St Peter and St Paul. If you would like to join in and sing, there will be rehearsals held on 3rd and 10th November, 19.45 at Kramgasse 10, 1st stock.
Nativity Play Costumes
As many of you know our old nativity play costumes were destroyed by an infestation of moths earlier this year. Astrid Vangenechten has kindly undertaken to organise making new costumes.
There will be a short meeting after church on Sunday 25th October when Astrid will outline her plans.
If anyone would like to help with making the costumes, please speak to Astrid.
For more information about what materials we need to make the costumes, please look at our website here:
Harvest Festival, Sunday 11th October
Do join us as we celebrate harvest next Sunday and give thanks to God for all the blessings we enjoy. As always, we invite you to bring some fruit, vegetables, flowers, cakes, jams, tins etc to decorate the church. After the service we will hold our Harvest Auction as and all proceeds will go to support the Water Sanitation Project in Uganda, through ena! (formally TearFund Schweiz). This is the charity supported by Junior Church.
Harvest Thanksgiving Prayer and Blessing
Eternal God,
you crown the year with your goodness and you give us the fruits of the earth in their season:
grant that we may use them to your glory, for the relief of those in need and for our own well being;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord.
Amen
May God our Creator,who clothes the lilies and feeds the birds of the air,
bestow on you his careand increase the harvest of your righteousness;
and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be among you and remain with you always.
Amen
With love in Christ,
Helen
