Being Church at All Times – 265

Wednesday 2 July 2025

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I know that some of you have already gone away on holiday, but I hope that all those of you who are still here will join us on Sunday, 6th July, when James Morgan will be ordained.

THIS SUNDAY: James Morgan's Ordination, 10:30am by Bishop Alison White, Honorary Bishop in our Diocese It will be a joy to welcome Bishop Alison and Archdeacon Peter Hooper as well as James' family and friends.

NB please do note the change of time. This is so that there is time to run through everything with Bishop Alison before the service.

'Bring and share' lunch after the service: there will be a lunch after the service to celebrate this special occasion. Please bring a savoury or sweet dish to share. Thank you.

Please keep James and Lilian and all their family in your prayers.

LOOKING AHEAD

Church Picnic, Sunday 17th August
After the service on Sunday 17th August we are planning a church picnic in the Dählhölzli. I hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us that day.

Toilet Paper
You may have noticed that the toilet paper in the halls looks different. That is because, after research through the Eco Group, we have switched to a more environmental product from OH Sheet. You can find out more information about this here
If you would like to buy some for yourself at home, then please use this referral link and you will receive a 10% discount and St Ursula's will profit also from your first order.

Prayer for Sunday
As we look to celebrate James' ordination as priest on Sunday, it is good to remind ourselves that we all have a part to play in the growth and flourishing of the church. As we pray for James, let us also pray for ourselves. Below is the collect, (the special prayer) for this Sunday's service:

God our Father, Lord of all the world,
through your Son you have called us
into the fellowship of your universal church:
hear our prayer for your faithful people
that in their vocation and ministry
each may be an instrument of your love,
and give to your servant James to be ordained
the needful gifts of grace;
through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
Amen

With love in Christ,
Helen
